What is a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration

Apprenticeships are government backed training schemes, which provide a structured learning route within a working environment. The scheme focuses on motivated people who are determined to succeed within the workplace. An Apprenticeship is a great way for individuals to earn as they learn and for employers to discover skilled and talented employees. The primary objective of the Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done where possible by integrating the training into the organisation's models for personnel and business development.

Who funds the Award

Customised Training & HR Services Ltd are contracted by Skills Development Scotland Ltd to deliver Modern Apprenticeships in Business and Administration to 16-19 year olds who either work or live in the Renfrewshire/Inverclyde area, therefore, no financial contribution is required from the employer for training or recruitment costs. Employers pay the Modern Apprentice a wage in line with the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices.

Recruitment and Eligibility

Modern Apprenticeships are open to existing employees between the ages of 16 to 19 years old or new employees recruited with the assistance of Customised Training & HR Services Ltd.

Support Provided

Customised Training & HR Services Ltd provides training support, assessments and documentation to enable candidates to achieve the qualifications, including full registration and certification with the awarding bodies.

Appointed Assessor/Advisor

Appointed to the company is an experienced Assessor/Advisor whose role is to liaise with the employer in devising an Individual Training Plan to meet the business objectives and oversee the Modern Apprentice's progression in line with the plan. The Assessor/Advisor also undertakes intial assessment of the Modern Apprentice and co-ordinates the delivery of training in line with the plan.

Reviews

A formal review of the plan is carried out at 12/13 weekly intervals to review progress and plan training and development aims and objectives for the next quarter.
