We are approved by Skills Development Scotland to deliver and manage skillseeker training on behalf of the employer.

Eligibility
The Skillseeker programme is designed to give young people the opportunity to gain a qualification whilst in full-time employment or training placement and is open to 16-19 year olds.

Objective
An objective of Skillseekers is to increase a better skilled and qualified workforce, thus increasing efficiency and competitiveness of British industry. All skillseekers work towards an appropriate Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ – these are nationally recognised qualifications and have been designed by industry for industry).

Recruitment
Customised Training & HR Services Ltd can assist the employer with the recruitment of a 16-19 year old for an Administration or Information Technology role (thereby keeping the cost down for the employer as there are no finders fee for candidates entering the training programme).

Allowances
The employer may choose to pay a new recruit a wage from day one or a training allowance leading to a wage on completion of their qualification, or earlier if this is economically viable. These options should be discussed with Customised Training & HR Services Ltd prior to appointing a young person.

Customised Training Plan
One of our Training Managers will assist the employer to identify the most suitable award and entry level for each skillseeker. They will agree with the employer and the skillseeker a training plan customised to the current and future job role to allow the skillseeker to develop and demonstrate competence in line with the business’s objectives. The skillseeker will be assessed against the national standards on their ability to perform identified tasks in the workplace, where a training need is identified this can be delivered by Customised Training & HR Services Ltd either in the workplace or off-the-job if preferred by the employer.
